The basics of content editing

Learn the basics of how to update and manage your website content.

  • Editor Overview - The editor's interface has three main predefined sections: The top navigation bar, the left panel, and the content area. Each of these predefined sections plays an important role in website editing and maintenance.
  • Pages - The Pages section is a major part of your site. Pages allows you to reorder, manage and create new pages in your site. Organize your site's widgets by using multiple pages to improve your visitors' experience and increases the chance that they will find the information they need.
  • Arranging Content - How you arrange the content on your site is really important. Arranging content well makes it easy for visitors to find what they are looking for, and allows you to highlight sections of your site that might otherwise be overlooked. A well-organized page makes your site look professional and helps increase sales by making it easy for site visitors to find what they are looking for.
  • Add new content - The CCH Web Manager editor is built from a header, footer, rows, and columns. Content can be added to your website using widgets, the most common of which are the Text Widget and Image Widget. Widgets sit within the content area via rows and columns.
  • Widgets - Learn about the different widgets within CCH Web Manager that will allow you to add content to your website.

Updating shared content

As part of the base content we provide for your website, you will notice under the Services menu that you have a folder called Online Accounting. Please ensure you update this area to reflect the certifications held by your firm. If you do not hold any certifications but would like to promote the software provider, you can still add their generic logo to this section of the website.

Please click here to download the software provider logos.

Launching your site

Once have logged in to CCH Web Manager, had a look around, and added and edited the content in your site, you will now be at the point where you can launch it to the public. To do this you will need to update your DNS settings to point your website's domain name to your website. This page covers what you need to do to update your DNS settings.

Once you have updated your DNS settings please notify us so we can perform a round of post launch checks on your website. Once we have completed these we will send you a confirmation email that your website has been officially launched.

Setting up Google Analytics tracking

We recommend adding Google Analytics to your CCH Web Manager website so that you can track its performance. To do this you will need to create a Google Account.
